AI Full-Spectrum Water Quality Detection

Minute-level anomaly detection — before contamination reaches the end user.

In building water supply systems, contamination events in storage tanks can develop and spread within minutes. By the time a scheduled manual test detects a problem, affected water may already have reached residents. AI Full-Spectrum detection closes this gap — continuously, automatically, and without reagents.

What It Does

The A-AI043 combines a full-spectrum optical sensor with an AI water quality model trained on thousands of chemical-method reference measurements, enabling reagent-free, continuous water quality assessment with minute-level anomaly detection.

How It Works

The sensor captures a full UV-Vis absorption spectrum of the water sample. The AI model — built on mapping relationships between spectral signatures and verified chemical measurements — interprets spectral deviation from a baseline "clean water" profile and classifies the severity of any anomaly across three alert levels.

Key Advantages

♦ Minute-level anomaly detection: Continuous full-spectrum monitoring detects water quality changes within minutes of occurrence — far faster than any scheduled sampling or periodic testing regime.
♦ Three-level alert system with automated response: A tiered alert structure distinguishes between minor deviations, significant anomalies, and critical contamination events — triggering proportionate responses from notification through to automatic valve shutoff, without requiring human intervention at the point of detection.
♦ No reagents required: Optical spectral analysis requires no chemical reagents, generates no chemical waste, and has no consumable replenishment cycle — reducing both operational cost and environmental impact compared to chemical-method monitoring.
♦ AI model trained on real measurement data: The underlying model is built on mapping relationships between spectral data and thousands of verified chemical-method measurements — not a theoretical model. This gives the system the ability to detect a wide range of contamination signatures, including those that may not map to a single specific parameter.

Who Benefits Most

Residential and commercial building operators managing secondary water supply systems — particularly those using rooftop or basement storage tanks — where contamination risk is highest and the consequences of delayed detection most immediate. Property management companies, building facilities teams, and municipal utilities responsible for last-mile water safety will find the most direct application.

Aquaculture
A large-scale marine shrimp farming base operating over 500 acres and 20 ponds faced repeated water quality crises under high-density farming conditions. Manual testing once or twice daily using test strips could not capture overnight dissolved oxygen crashes or sudden ammonia spikes from residual feed decomposition. With 6 workers required for shift-based inspections across 20 ponds, labor costs were high and data remained fragmented — feeding and water exchange decisions relied entirely on operator experience, leading to resource waste and extended farming cycles.
